Jesse James, called “Ribs,” was reported to be a full blood Indian and was the second husband of Alice Wilma “Wilma” Davis. Wilma was then knicknamed “Billie Ribs.” Many stories circulate in the family about this marriage but are undocumented. Jesse James was murdered at North Bay Cove, one of the coastal communities of OR.
Vern Paquette was the last husband of Alice Wilma Davis. It was reported that he was somehow related to Alice Wilma Davis, perhaps through the family name of Cole which was the maiden name of Mary Cole Root who with her husband Zelotes Root settled in the Tillamook area before 1870. Mary Cole Root was Alice Wilma Davis’ Grandmother.
